Akil Taylor is a farmer specializing in regenerative agriculture. As a certified Cho Global Natural Farming Level II agriculturalist, he has lent his skills to diverse projects in the U.S., the Caribbean, and West Africa. Empowering and reinforcing farmers worldwide with knowledge of how to create their own microbial inoculants & pesticides.
Akil is the founder & owner of Kaneh Rootz, and co-founder & co-owner of Rentz McGuire Acres, the first black-owned hemp fiber farms to cultivate & process in the State of Florida. Also an owner of secondary ventures at the intersection of aquaculture, seed genetics, pesticides, fertilizers, education, natural resources, and textiles. He has over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry with a focus on sales, merchandising, marketing, quality control, and relationship management.
After over a decade in this carbon-intensive industry, his commitment to regenerative techniques in the agricultural sector has grown to include restoration of ecological balance and climate change mitigation. He is an innovator and respected practitioner in Florida’s emerging hemp industry.
